Robert A. DeLossa’s Home Page

Welcome to my website. This is an ongoing work in progress. As of early 2010 I'm still adding content and course integration, but we're getting there. I have tweaked the design a bit to get a more readable font and better font-background contrast.

If you are a current student of mine, you will find information and materials for your class under the "LHS" tab above. As I build the site, I will add useful links and a writing section. For my colleagues, I also intend to add materials that are useful for social studies teaching and teaching pedagogy and praxis in general.

I reside (along with my co-authors) at Amazon.com because of "Rozmovliaimo," a textbook to learn the Ukrainian language. Click on the "Ukrainian/AAUS" link above to find information about ordering the book or to download audio files that are keyed to the dialogues and exercises in the book. There also are other Ukrainian-language resources there. As well, I have been a member of the executive board of the American Association for Ukrainian Studies in one capacity or another since 1996. I have links and information on Ukrainian studies under the "Ukrainian/AAUS" tab above.

Under the Miscellany tab, you can find out a bit more about me through my curriculum vitae and other links. I also will be placing other material there that doesn't fit in the other nodes—but I will try to make sure that it is useful material for those who are interested in the main parts of the site.

A number of correspondents of mine in several of the fields in which I work have asked me to start a blog and I intend--eventually--to comply. The Weblog/Essays section will come on line once a majority of the rest of the site is functional and my work and domestic responsibilities allow to begin serious writing again. I'll describe it in greater detail once I get to that point.

Thank you for visiting! I am much obliged that you have taken the time. Critical feedback on how the site works for you would be much appreciated--especially if you are a student of mine. And, yes, that is what my desk looks like most of the time.

Pax vobiscum.
